Records, the UK’s leading label for synthesiser and
experimental music, presents it’s first sampling CD. The classic
and modern synths and drum machines recorded here offer a huge range
of sounds and textures, which are combined in the opening demo piece
to give an idea of how these powerful analogue and digital voices can interact.
Most of the monophonic and non-MIDI synths are recorded ‘dry’ on one channel and ‘ambient’ on the other, to help with the creation of stereo samples, or to give a choice of ambient levels by mixing samples to mono.
The cost of this collection of instruments - were you able to buy them at all today - would be quite prohibitive; anyone into sampling really should check out this CD.
